Towing performance of 15 MW semi-submersible offshore wind turbine

  • In order to analyze the dynamic response characteristics of a 15 MW semi-submersible offshore wind turbine system, in the report, based on ANSYS-AQWA software, a coupled time-domain analysis model of the towing system for the 15 MW semi-submersible offshore wind turbine was established, the effects of the different cable stiffness, towing speed, wave period and wave direction on the main dynamic response parameters (heave acceleration, roll, pitch and towing force, etc.)of the floating wind turbine during towing were studied. Some suggestions for the optimization of wave direction, towing cable stiffness and towing speed during towing nonlinear dynamic process of 15 MW semi-submersible offshore wind turbine were proposed. Our findings provide a positive reference for the optimization and engineering application of towing schemes for the large floating offshore wind turbines.
