Construction of the engineering project change management information system based on blockchain

  • In order to solve the problems of the information opacity and poor traceability in the changes of engineering project, in the report, a blockchain-based engineering project change management information system was proposed, and the engineering change cases were used to simulate and demonstrate the functional modules of the blockchain system. The results showed that the decentralized engineering change management information system proposed in the report can effectively solve the problems of information fragmentation, poor authenticity of data sources, and low degree of intelligence in traditional change management, and share, store, and manage the change information in a secure and tamper-proof way. Moreover, the smart contracts were used to realize the compliance review of the change procedure, which improves the efficiency of the change processing of the engineering projects and provides the new perspectives and methods for the technological innovation and management improvement within the construction industry.
