Abstract
In the report, the modified rice straw fiber cement mortar was prepared by pretreating rice straw fibers with sodium hydroxide soaking, and the mechanical properties of cement mortar with different fiber lengths and fiber content were analyzed. The thermal conductivity and durability of the thin plates made of modified rice straw fiber cement mortar were also studied. The results showed that the straw fibers weaken the flexural and compressive strength of the cement mortar, however, the thermal conductivity and density of the cement mortar thin plate specimens are reduced. When the fiber content was 60%, the thermal conductivity of the thin plate was only 0.128 W∙(m·K)-1, which greatly improve the thermal insulation performance. After accelerated aging, the flexural strength of the thin plate specimens are reduced with varying degrees. However, the specimens with a fiber content lower than 45% can still meet the strength requirements of fibre cement board grade R1.
