A new method of static load bearing performance evaluation of asphalt mortar and its application

  • In the report, a new quantitative evaluation method for the load-bearing properties of asphalt mortar was proposed, and which was used for analyzing the effects of different modifier dosage and temperature on the static load-bearing properties of high viscosity asphalt mortar. The results showed that after the high viscosity materials are added, the compressive strength and compressive modulus of the mortar are increased by 35.97% and 14.12%, respectively, and the tensile strength and tensile modulus are increased by more than double. The new method was consistent with the state of asphalt mortar in asphalt mixture, and whose accuracy is high. With the increase of the modifier content, the compressive strength limit and elastic modulus of SBS asphalt mortar increased firstly and then decreased, while the compressive strength limit and elastic modulus of high viscosity asphalt mortar continued to increase, and the two-asphalt mortar showed the different changing rules.When the temperature increased, the strength limit and elastic modulus of the high viscosity asphalt mortar decreased slightly, which were 56.46% and 38.21%, respectively.
