Effects of Different Stocking Density on Growth of Scylla paramamosain in Farm Pond

  • To explore the influence of breeding densities on the growth of Scylla paramamosain in farm pond. 4 breeding densities (1.2, 2.1, 3.0, 3.9 larva per square meter) were designed, the growth difference of S.paramamosain under the different stoking density were compared, the growth model of Von Bertalanffy of carapace length, carapace width, weight and growing period was established, and the relationship between them was constructed. The results indicated that the breeding density has a significant effect on carapace length, carapace width and weight (p<0.01), when the density is 1.2 larvae per square meter, the carapace length, carapace width and weight were largest, however, there were no obvious differences of the growth index among other densities conditions; under the different densities, the maximum value of carapace length, carapace width and max growth rate of different densities was 2.17, 2.52, and 3.71, respectively, and there was a close relationship between carapace length, carapace width and weight (R2≥0.998 0), the fitting degree of carapace length-width, carapace length-weight, and carapace width- weight was 0.9995, 0.9984 and 0.9980, respectively. Therefore, the reasonable breeding density of S.paramamosain in farm pond was 1.2-2.1 C1 per square meter.
