Species Composition and Distribution of Scleractinia Coral in the Port of Hainan Dazhou Island

In the report, the cross section method was performed to investigate the scleractinia coral in the port of Hainan Dazhou Island for 2 years. The results indicated that there were 42 Hermatypic coral species in 22 genera among 12 families, the 10 dominant species were Acropora hyacinthus, A.nasuta, A.pulchra, Galaxea fascicularis, Goniopora duofasciata, Platygyra daedalea, Montipora digitata, M.fragilis, A.millepora and Porites lutea, respectively. The coverage, mortality and supplement quantity of coral communities in 2014 were significantly lower than that in 2013, and the strong increase of mortality in 2014 is likely to be associated with strong typhoons.
