Preparation of Polyurethane Foam for Medical Dressings and its Formulation Optimization

In the report, under the optimized conditions, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and toluene diisocyanate (TDI) were mixed to prepare the polyurethane foam for medical dressings, the effects of the ratio of PEG and TDI and the amounts of the catalyst on the foam material properties were analyzed, the optimized formula of raw materials was obtained, and the material was characterized. The results indicated that the water absorption and blood coagulation property of the prepared polyurethane foam for medical dressings were very well, which is worthy of further research and development.
