Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a New One-dimensional Cobalt Oxalate Compound
-
Abstract
In the study, a novel cobalt oxalate compound, [Co(C2O4)0.5(H2O)]n(1)was synthesized. X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis results showed that the compound belongs to monoclinic, C2/c space group with the cell parameters a=1.1785(6)nm, b=0.5425(3)nm, c=0.9665(5)nm, β =126.371(5)°, Z=8. Each Co2+cations was coordinated with four oxygen atoms from two oxalates and two oxygen atoms from two water molecules. The Co2+ cations and oxalate anions were alternately connected to form a 1D chain structure in the b axis direction, between which a 3D supramolecular compound was formed through hydrogen bond.
