Preparation of Ferric Chloride Aqueous Solutions

  • Three necked bottle as the reactor ferrous Chloride was synthesized by iron powder which react with dilute hydrochloric acid were used. The optimum preparation conditions in the reaction process were determined: the mass percentage of hydrochloric acid solution was 18%, temperature was 85℃, the weight ratio of the hydrochloride and iron powder was 1.4∶1, reaction time was 20 minutes. Ferric Chloride was synthesized by the ferrous chloride which react with hydrogen peroxide in acidic conditions used hydrogen peroxide as oxidant. The optimum oxidation conditions in the reaction process: stirring scale was 20, the weight ratio of the hydrogen peroxide and iron powder was 1.63∶1, temperature was 55℃, the adding rate of hydrogen peroxide was 0.5-1—1.0 mL·min-1.
