Studies on the Acute Toxicity of Ceftazidime and Tazobactam Sodium for Injection

According to the requirement of Research Guideline of New West Medicines,the acute toxicity of ceftazidime and tazobactam sodium for injection(3:1 and (5:1)) on rats and mice was studied,The results showed that in the mice's acute toxicity test for ceftazidium and tazobactam sodium for injection(3:1 and (5:1)),the 50% lethal doses(LD₅₀)were respectively more than 5.45 g·kg^-1 and 6.0 g·kg^-1 by vein injection; and in the rats' acute toxicity test,the LD₅₀ were respectively more than 4.26 g·kg^-1 and 3.84 (g·kg^-1) by vein injection.All these indicated that the ceftazidime and tazobactam sodium injection had a lower toxicity in clinical practice.
