580 Clinical Cases of Circumcision Plus Laser Therapy on Condyloma Acuminatum for Male Patients

760 male patients suffered from condyloma acuminatum on the penis were treated in our hospital during the period from 1993 to 1996. Among them, 580 cases underwent circumcision plus laser therapy at the cure rate of 96.2% and the infection and recurrence rate of 3.8% after one single treatment while 180 cases underwent laser therapy only at the cure rate of 64.4% and the infection and recurrence rate of 35.6% after one single treatment. The results show that circumcision plus laser therapy on condyloma acuminatum for male patients can not only effectively eliminate the tissues of condyloma acuminatum but also improve the conditions of the partial moistness and secretion both increased as a result of excessively long foreskin. Therefore, this combined treatment is more effective to decrease the infection and recurrence rate compared with single laser therapy.
