A Study on the Propagation of Cymbidium eburneum Ldl. via Tissue Culture

This paper deals with the rapid propagation of Cymbidium eburneum Ldl via tissue culture.The experiments show that the modified VW medium has ideal effects on inducing and propagating the protocorm -like body of C.eburneum Ldl.In the modified VW medium complementing 1～2 mg/L of KT and 0.1～0.5 mg/L of NAA the formation frequency can amount to 95%,and Subcultured for 2 months in this medium the protocorm-like body can propagate 6～8 times.2,4-D has a strong inhibitory effects on the formation of protocorm-like body,and a concentration of 0. 1 mg/L of 2,4-D is enough for completely inhibiting the formation of protocorm-like body.The effect on the propagation and differentiation of protocorm-like body of 6- BA is not ideal and that of KT is better.In root-and plantlet-promoting stage,the 1/2 MS medium without hormone,complementing 5%～10% of banana juice,has optimum effects.The paper also introduces the transplantation technique of the tube plantlets of C.eburneum Ldl.
