An Adaptive Back-off Algorithm of WLANs’ MAC Protocols

摘要: 根据IEEE802.11分布式协同机制(DCF), 提出了一种自适应调整竞争窗口的退避算法. 其原理是根据节点MAC帧头部的持续时间duration字段中网络分配矢量(NAV)的信息来预测节点附近信道的争用情况, 竞争窗口的取值是在不同网络负载的情况下, 采用自适应的调整策略, 以达到改善网络性能的目的. 分析与仿真结果表明, 与传统的退避算法BEB算法相比, 本算法提高了网络的信道利用率, 对平均传输时延也有所改善.Abstract: Based on the IEEE802.11 DCF, an adaptive back-off algorithm to adjust contention window is presented. The basic idea of the new algorithm is that using nodes network allocation vector(NAV) information predicts the contending condition around it since the node will choose an adaptive strategy to compute the value of the contention window regarding to different network traffic. Results obtained from analysis and simulation show that the adaptive back-off algorithm increases the channel utilization and makes an improvement to the packet latency compared with the traditional back-off algorithm BEB.
