Abstract: LED thermal dissipation technology patents between January 1 1985 to December 31 2008 were collected from "The seven countries and two organizations" Patent Database and were used to establish the associated patent database. Based on the total amount of patent applications, key LED patents and key patent holders, Guangdong Patent Information Service Platform Analysis System was used to analysis LED thermal dissipation technology patents. The present status of abroad and China’s patents were compared and the patent strategy for developing our nation’s LED thermal dissipation technology was also discussed.
