Abstract: Based on the introduction of mechanical innovation design elements, the present teaching situation of the mechanical innovation design were further studied at home and abroad. The harvest and problems of the ability cultivation of mechanical innovation design in Hainan University were listed, the methods of the ability cultivation of mechanical innovation design were discussed, and some suggestions about how to improve the ability of mechanical innovation design of students were also proposed.
