Abstract:
In the report, the seismic performance of the composite shear walls of the concealed columns of the novel CFT (concrete filled steel tube) confined with spiral stirrups were studied, in which the longitudinal steel bars were replaced with round steel tubes in confined boundary zone, and the spiral stirrup were roll-welded on the outside of steel pipe. The aspect ratio and axial compression ratio were taken into accounted to design and make the new type scale shear wall specimens, The low cycle reciprocating load test were used to analyze the failure pattern, hysteresis property, energy dissipation, ductility and rigidity degeneration of the specimens. The results indicated that the concealed columns of the CFT confined with spiral stirrups has a good effect on improving traditional reinforced concrete shear walls in medium and high heights. Our findings suggested that the construction form of spiral stirrup CFT composite concealed columns has a good effect on dissipating seismic energy.
