Abstract:
When the anti-rutting ability of asphalt pavement materials is evaluated, the results of asphalt mixtures have great variability. The traditional asphalt mortar anti-rutting evaluation methods reflect fluid performance rather than bearing performance. The mortar in the asphalt mixture has uniform properties and can provide the viscoelasticity and deformation recovery characteristics required to solve the rutting problems. Therefore, an effective asphalt mortar performance evaluation method, which can achieve quantitative anti-rutting evaluation, is necessary for reflecting the anti-rutting performance. In the report, based on the previous work, an evaluation method to reflect the bearing capacity of asphalt mortar in mixture by the mechanical tensile and compressive properties of asphalt mortar with the optimum powder binder ratio, was proposed, the corresponding test device was designed, the mechanical properties of asphalt mortar specimens with different powder binder ratio and different types at specific temperature were tested. The accuracy and effectiveness of the method were proved by a series of tests.
